A new basmati rice variety, called 1718 is an improved version of the iconic 1121 basmati. It is a modified rice seed of the 1121 basmati variety which is resistant to bacterial leaf blight and prevents flattening of crop during rain or strong wind. The yield is also comparatively higher and ripening of the seed also take lesser time than other basmati varieties. it is available in Steamed, Parboiled (sella) rice.
